After seeing them on European roads, I fell in love with the car. How hard would it be to get one on Canadian soil w/o too much hassle? How expensive could it be?

As soon as a car turns 15 (according to production date), those cars can be imported. Not too difficult, but time consuming. As long as the car is stock and as it was built and delivered, having it homologated is a walk in the park.
Cars can be shipped from Bremerhaven to either port of Halifax (where you can pick it up and trailer up to Montreal), or have it shipped to Montreal. |

from http://www.bmwworld.com/models/e36.htm
"In 1995, the Touring or Sport Wagon model was introduced. The Touring was available as the 318i, 320i, 328i, 318tds and 325tds models. Only the 320i and 328i models were imported to the USA." usually if they are in the usa, they are in canada, right? but from here: http://www.answers.com/topic/bmw-3-series "The "Touring" station wagon was sold in Europe from 1995, but was not offered in the United States." and from here: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...rticleId=66153 "BMW still wouldn't let the U.S. have the "Touring" wagon model of the E36 when it went on sale in Europe during 1995" looks like the nays have it. there was a roundel article sometime in the last year or so about someone who turned a bmw touring into a M touring, by simply replacing all the parts that were different. You might be able to find something on the web if you look. this must have been an e46. some e46s are getting long in the tooth. an e46 wagon wouldn't be such a bad thing. |
